Conceptual Project for the Easement Revival of Pasig River and Relocation of Informal Settler Families (ISF)

Scope: Concept Case Study, Rendering

Formalizing the informal

An architectural study and conceptualization on the proposed in-city modular housing for informal settler families during my time as an architect for the department.

This proposal aims to achieve a solution to the lack of adequate housing inside the city for the informal settlers along the tributaries of the Manila Bay. A conceptualization of a versatile architectural solution that would accomodate the existing informal settlers by developing housing units on a limited land area in any given circumstances.

It would be beneficial to the community when constructed as it would allow the ISFs to continue their livelihood inside the city while also helping improve their quality of life as well as their community. The housing units cater to the needs of the ISFs in delivering solutions on sanitation issues in their households and in the nearby rivers.

This project also aims to raise community awareness and improve the capability of the people to protect the rivers, not endangering the populace but allowing locals to coexist with the environment, raising social and community inclusivity with the use of site planning.
